Even though we may feel like the warmth of summer has long passed and we are easing our way in to the cold and darkness of the winter season … there are still opportunities to see color around us. A time to be thankful for those moments when nature can surprise us with a splash of color!
It seems fall has almost always been my favorite time of the year. There is something about the chill in the air, the need for layering of clothes and the beautiful colors which seem to arrive at the perfect time. Fall reminds me of the cycles which take place in our lives. How, even though things may seem to be drying up (or getting wetter if you live in the Pacific Northwest) and dying off, there is a plan … a cycle which is necessary in order to fully appreciate life and to move forward.
With Thanksgiving approaching I am feeling the need to acknowledge what I am thankful for in my life. One of the biggest things I am thankful for is being able to go outside and be “in nature”. Forgetting about the to do list, or maybe what I am “suppose to be doing” and taking the time to get out of the house / office and simply “BE”. Most times when I escape to the outdoors I am gifted with a feeling of coming home again. A feeling of being exactly where I am suppose to be and doing what I am meant to do.
